The production of contact lenses has from the beginning been a kind of craft or perhaps even some sort of art. Besides specific demands with respect of the materials that can be used to realize contact lenses, also the demands for the optical quality are high.

With our ultra precision diamond turning machines we can directly realize contact lenses without a need to polish them. Or differently put, polishing of our contact lenses will destroy the high accuracy of the form of the lens.
We have designed our own blocking and counter blocking unit to be able to create both the front and the back of the lens without losing accurate positioning. With these machines Sumipro is able to create a contact lens which is reproducible 1000 times as accurate in form compared to the standard lenses. Together with powerful contact lens design software, Sumipro can design every type of lens. The amount of design freedom is large; every spherical, non spherical, mono or multi focal, front or back toric lenses are possible.
